Overview

The Coaching program within the Markham Minor Lacrosse Assocation is a very critical component in order to provide high quality programs to develop Lacrosse skills in the players.

 


Coaches Clinic

We at MMLA would like to send out a big thank you to Glenn Clark.

Over the past few years Glen has donated his time to run the House League Coaches Clinic for us; this year it was on Wed May 2nd at Mt. Joy. He has won the NLL Champions Cup 5 times, been a Toronto Rock Player and Head Coach and an assistant coach for Team Canada. Currently Glenn co-coaches our Peewee and Bantam Rep Teams. Thank you Glenn!


Coaching Requirments

  • House League coaches may attend certification clincs but are not required to do so at this time.
  • Rep coaches in their 1st year of coaching must have either Level 1 Theory or Level 1 Technical.
  • Rep coaches in subsequent years must have both Level 1 Theory and Level 1 Technical (Level 1 Practical is received after 1 full season of coaching upon recommendation from MMLA.

 

New coaching requirements now take in effect as of 2012.
